#20 The Vanishes and Productions Illusions
A large object like a car, boat or plane can be made to appear or vanish by using the secrets below...
Firstly, the apparent people chosen by the Magician from the spectators, are actually all part of the Magicians Company... sworn to not tell the actual things that they see...
Next... the presentation is always filmed, so that it seems real, but actually it involves camera tricks, namely a stage with a seated audience that swings on tracks thru 90 degrees so that when a curtain is drawn infront of the object and then withdrawn, the stage has moved revealing a different view... showing an empty area, (or showing an object there that was not there before, in the case of a Production)... the curtain moves with the stage, and so do all of the seats and spectators (part of the Magician's Company)... all of this is filmed by cameras that are also fixed to the stage, so that any motion is not detectable...
Other Vanishes or Productions are realized differently by covering a large object, such as a train car, then removing it back out of the viewing area off the stage's visible area via tracks or wheels using power equipment in a few seconds, just before the cover is wisked away... the audience's angle of view along with Misdirection from background lights and music make it virtually undectectable... in the case of the Train Car, a thin strong wire "form" outlining the top of the train car, holds the covering in place as it is raised up, while the Train Car is quickly pulled back by power equipment out to a place behind the background walls... then the Magician "wisks" the covering away, at which time the form is virtually invisible and is quickly pulled out of sight by guide wires... the entire group of spectators are all part of the Company...
